SUMMARY:Decoding the Moment: Cuts to Violence Prevention Programs
DESCRIPTION:Gun violence is the leading cause of death among children in the United States. Yet in April\, the Trump administration announced plans to terminate hundreds of millions of dollars in grants from the Department of Justice (DOJ) that support violence reduction. The Department said the grants no longer aligned with administration priorities. The cuts affect 37 states across urban\, suburban\, and rural areas.
