Federal officials have demanded states provide extensive information about their fraud fighting efforts. They’ve also frozen billions of dollars in Medicaid payments to several Democrat-led states and revoked federal funding of anti-fraud units in others. The message from the administration is that states are not doing enough to combat fraud in Medicaid. \nHow much fraud is there and how do states try to prevent and prosecute it? How have states and the federal government traditionally partnered in this work?
